A step by Step Guide to Massage

Lockdown was hard on all of us. Many mental health issues which were already there, became more acute; and those who had never suffered from them suddenly found themselves feeling anxious and distressed. With the furlough scheme coming to an end next month, the country will no doubt see more people becoming unemployed and the economy becoming more unstable. For those that worked throughout, they were doing long hours often from home where their workstations were causing them all sorts of postural issues.

I was lucky enough to only have 5 weeks without work but many people went longer and many fell through the gaps on the governments various schemes.

A problem is a chance for you to do your best

The thing that has made me really sad is that since the restrictions have lifted, the number of companies that have increased their prices is breathtaking. I tried to book in for a massage after lockdown, as my back was so sore from working and my usual salon had increased their prices by 26%!! I realise they are trying to make up for the time they were shut for but it took that treatment well out of my price range and I didn’t book.

So, I decided that in a time where people are feeling more stressed than ever before, where money is tight in many households and where sports are just starting up again after not being allowed (and therefore people trying to get back into a training program) I would write an ebook which people could download and learn how to massage their loved ones.

I can’t tell you the number of times clients have told me that their partners should come and see me because ‘they’re really stressed out’; or their child has lots of muscle pain from rugby training. But what if you could massage your own partner or child? Surely if your partner is massively stressed out then massaging them would be something lovely you could do for them and could reconnect the two of you. Sadly, people always think they can’t do massage…they believe that they might get it wrong or they won’t know what to do. Massage, however, is not difficult. Follow a few basic rules and it really just relies on your natural instinct.

So I have produced a step by step guide with photos and video footage that you can follow. It will be download from this website and from Kindle and gives you some basic and advanced techniques. Now that’s not to say you shouldn’t go for a professional treatment ever but massage should be accessible to all and shouldn’t stress you out by the amount you have to spend on it.
