Happy New Year

So the start of another New Year…great aspirations for 2018 and reflections of what could have been better in 2017.

But how about we look at everything we experience - good and bad - as a learning curve?  I know it has been for me.  I start 2018 in a very different place to how I started 2017, and thats the exciting thing.  Its always changing and evolving.

So what have I learnt this year?

Well, be generous in your spirit…people generally are trying to do the best they can, and be the best they can be.

Its the people you least expect who often step up to the mark for you.

You can achieve much more than you think even if you think you’re winging it the whole time (like I do)…I’m sure you have more experience now in certain areas than you did a year ago

Continue to learn…there’s nothing better than expanding your knowledge and accepting that actually the more you do, the less you feel you know…I feel that for sure.

Make time to travel, to experience different cultures.  Its as important to know what you don’t like, as it is to discover what you do.

This year has been a whirlwind…from having the opportunity to set up my own clinic, meet some remarkable therapists (some who have come and gone to start their own ventures but some that have stayed and helped take my vision forward); going from running one retreat in 2017 to 4 retreats in 2018 with my remarkable friend and business partner, Tanya Pascall. Clients who have helped me every step of the way…from providing me with stories that make me laugh out loud, sharing their worries and insecurities and even to advising me on how to achieve my goals in business.  All the people I have around me, and there have been many, that help me out ‘just because they can’.

I hope I give back in some way to every single one of them.

2018 is going to be the year where things hopefully take fruition?  The clinic, I hope with the support of the great team there, we can take from strength to strength.  The retreats continue to be loved and people come back time and time again.  The product range that I am developing is welcomed by people and helps people feel good about themselves.  But more importantly, I hope I fulfil my own and my children’s expectations of what I can achieve and that I can really help all of you out there get back from injury and staying pain free in 2018.

I still have so much to learn about running a business but am excited by the journey and the people I have around me, helping me get there.

I hope everyone has a great New Year and I look forward to welcoming you at Ele King Therapy Room, at Ride Studios, Cobham.

Much love
Ele x
